Water Damage

The most common causes of water damage result from storms, rainwater ingress, ground flooding, burst pipes, sea water ingress and sewage overflows (back surge).

You’ve seen the TV news shots and national press pictures often enough to know how devastating such incidents can be.

Potential Damage
If you have suffered water damage, you should be aware of the following:

  • A building is not dry once the visible water is gone. It can take an additional
six weeks to completely dry out, even with dehumidification measures.

  • Water can reside undetected under floors, causing rot and deterioration
    to building foundations.

  • Water penetrates electronic equipment and electrical conduits causing long
term corrosion and electrical safety hazards.

  • Fresh water can pick up chemical contaminants including asbestos from building
surfaces, which can be harmful when deposited on sensitive electronic equipment.

  • Sewage back surges and deep water flooding carry the potential for serious
    health hazards.

  • The water from burst heating pipes is potentially corrosive and could cause
    skin burns.

  • Salt water is extremely corrosive and will attack all metal surfaces.

  • Books and documents that become wet will suffer mold growth and subsequent
    deterioration very quickly.

  • Magnetic tape used in audio cassettes and videos is softened, causing erosion
    of the recording surface.

STEP 1: Visual Inspection
Surveying the degree and extent of water damage results in a cost estimate and plan of action.

STEP 2: Water Removal
Standing water is removed to dry the structure and contents. Strict dry down methods and regular monitoring may prevent secondary damage and microbial growth

STEP 3: Stabilize
Dehumidifiers and air mover draw moisture from the moist air and return warm, dry air in order to stabilize the indoor environment

STEP 4: Monitor
The home or office structure and environment are regularly monitored on-site to ensure restoration to pre-loss condition

STEP 5: Relay/Replace Flooring
Carpets or flooring can be relayed or replaced and surfaces cleaned once the structure and environment are thoroughly cleaned and dry.

STEP 6: Restoring Lives
Your valuables can be returned to your home or office or safely stored in our facilities until the restoration is complete.
